About the Piece The figure in the Divine Male Tile is based on the Green Man archetype. While the siren from the Divine Female Tile lives in the water, the Green Man resides on the land, a symbol of consciousness. The male panel incorporates the elements of the snake motif found in the female tile. At the bottom of this tile, in the border, the roots of the trees swirl together to form a stylized yin-yang. The yin-yang reinstates how opposites, like land and water, day and night, male and female, connect to form a whole.
